Memories are Moonbeams
There was a beautiful moment. It was caught between bad and worse. But it was beautiful. It was one of those moments that lifts your soul and shatters both hearts once it is over. The two vibrated in perfect sync with each other, yet their moment made everything on earth hold its breath. It was a moment that was held tight, too tight in one's memories. Held on to for so long that the truth of it was choked out long ago; transforming it into pure fantasy. It should have been treasured and handled with care. Instead the memory was replayed, reworked until it was cut up into a million puzzle pieces that no longer seemed to fit together, unrecognizable.
It was meant to soar high above as a twinkling star. Instead it was stepped on, destroyed by others tugging it back and forth, all the time placing their own meanings onto it. Until all that was left was shreds o (f a memory. That moment might have changed the course of these two lives which touched for just those few seconds. The electricity, the chemistry and even the stars were aligned within those few seconds. If only one of them would take it. If only one of them would have seized the moment, their story would have forever lingered in the hearts and souls of everyone. But hesitation took over. A second clicked by, then another. Doubt set in. Doubt divided the two. They both separated and neither ever got that close again. And the two, once destined souls would never cross each other’s paths again.
On those bitter cold days when everything is grey and the voids within their lives seem great, both look towards the moon and stars. Each know that their love could have painted the skies and given all hope on even the darkest days. They look upon the moon as if to whisper their secret desires. As if to pass them on to the other. But the moon does not share such stories. He hoards them deep within his craters. Smiling down at all the fools who never took their chance. All of those souls who hesitated a moment too long and lost their mates.
Neither will ever travel to the moon and back for the other and so both the moment and the chance will be gone forever. Only to be replayed falsely within both their memories.

This was a tiny short story that I felt like sharing with you. It is not really apart of anything that I am writing on right now. I just felt like throwing up a little sample of my writing style.
For those of you who want an updated, Andrea Badger and I are working on our next children's book. The Mask: an Imprint by K. A. Petentler a young adult novella will be released on kindle February 28th. The next project I will be working on is a personal story that I started writing as a junior in high school that I promised myself I would finish and release before my ten year high school reunion. The plan for the rest of 2015 is to complete at least three children's books, three young adult novels or novellas (depending on the length). I am also going to release the first chapter of my Greek Mythology series as a short Prequel.
I am a fairytale writer of children's books and young adult novels. At the moment I have self published through my own publishing company. Remnants Publishing. Unmasked is my first long short fairytale. Polarbe's Hibernation is our children's book. And there is plenty more on the way.
