Everyone has their own writing process, what works for them. Hemingway stood up while writing, some use certain typewriters, and Stephen King writes a new book every six months.
My personal process to gather inspiration are looking at amazing images from different artists. At the moment my main source of images come from Deviantart. One specific source I found very inspiring lately is the amazing digital art of the Legends Of Cryptids. I honestly had never heard of it until I saw some of the most amazing artwork.
The second main artist I have been paying attention to is Wlop who has an amazing comic called Ghost Blade.
Images are a power source for me. even if it is just practice writning short stories; it gets the mind veered up and ready to write.
I try to at least find an image a day or back-stock images that I felt inspired from and go back and use them for inspiration. I call it Internet Image Inspirations.
But there is one other big thing that inspires my writing: Dreams.
Polarbe's Hibernation is just one example of this. It was my first dream in animation but it was amazing and I wrote it down as soon as I woke up. Unmasked is also inspired by an amazing dream as well.
My Third is reading books and watching movies.
I have learned as a writer you need to know where your inspiration comes from. For it gets harder and harder to feel inspired throughout an entire story from start to finish. (trust me I have over a hundred good stories just collecting dust...because I lost the inspiration and moved on.)
So My advice to all writers: know what makes you feel inspired and use it to continue going on your story!
I am a fairytale writer of children's books and young adult novels. At the moment I have self published through my own publishing company. Remnants Publishing. Unmasked is my first long short fairytale. Polarbe's Hibernation is our children's book. And there is plenty more on the way.
