I have fallen in love with Walt Disney (the man, not the company) all over again. Sunday night there was a special on ABC about the making of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. I will admit I am a huge fan of this man to begin with, then I saw the Mutliplane camera, that was created for this film. To be honest, my heart skipped a few beats; for a piece of technology no less.
It was amazing, it was a piece of technology that I have dreamt of my whole life. Every story I have ever written, every story I haven't found the right words to tell... this is how I see them, Animation in its finest form. I would take the long hours of work on a film over CGI and computers any day! In fact, I have always wished I was an artist, but had to be one with words, as my talents never went in that direction; but, I could always see it, visually. Which might be the problem, there are just not enough words in the dictionary (English anyway) to describe what I see in my head. In this I will always have to admire Walt Disney. He could get his vision across, so eloquently that people would follow his leadership and dreams. I have now erased my bucket list and replaced it with three things! 1) Make an animated film using the Multiplane Camera like the one that was used in Snow White. (perhaps my Anastasia story... and many others would be perfect for this) 2) Visit and explore the Walt Disney Vault. 3) Be the first person to ever make a complete series (based off of my Greek Mythology series.) into an animated full length film series using the multiplane camera. Now you know something personal, something crazy, and just insane enough that it might actually work, about me. An idea that makes my heart palpitate. Makes me swoon. And is the driving force behind the writer and the stories.
