I do not normally post videos on here, but this week there seems to be a plethora of inspiration that I wanted to share as all of you patiently wait for more details on my upcoming projects. (Soon, perhaps you will be seeing my own book trailers, though they probably won't be as good as the one above.)
Heather Dixon is an author for all fairytale and fantasy lovers everywhere. Her first book, Entwined is the best version of The Twelve Dancing Princesses that I have ever read. I am an avid reader, however there are those few times that I wish I had written a story first, and this was one of them.
Heather Dixon did the art work for the trailer above. She is releasing her book Illusionarium on May 19. I didn't even know that I was waiting on pins an needles for this to happen, ever since I read her last book. If you want to read some short stories or check out her art work and website at http://story-monster.blogspot.com
I have been trying to figure out how to do a book trailer for my books lately and when I saw this I liked it right away. Even the title seems like something I would come up with. Heather Dixon is a kindred spirit. She inspires me to do better, to push myself, and for that I am entirely grateful.
Honestly I can not praise Heather Dixon's work enough. Waiting for the next post on her blog seems like torture. I can't wait to see what creative insight she will share next. I can always count on her to keep me inspired.

Inspiration of the Day!
Needless to say, I am a huge Tom Hanks fan. He is one of the greats for any and all generations. The video proves just that. He has reached so many hearts. If there is one person in Hollywood that I would like to meet, it is him.
The likely hood of that ever happening is pretty much non existent for a Kansas City Girl. That's okay, because even in Missouri, he can inspire me to become a better person, and to always remember to keep reinventing myself.
I will admit that I have found a lot of inspiration for some of my recent story ideas from his movie, Saving Mr. Banks (or at least from the dreams I have after I watch this movie.) This clip is also very inspiring.

Even though Vitamin C's Friends Forever Graduation song was popular before my graduation year, it was always my anthem in high school, as I am sure it is for many. As my ten year reunion approaches, faster then I am prepared for, I seem to be drawn back to the music and inspirations of my past. Music is one of those inspirations that can put me back into the necessary mindset to write a High School novel. Spoiler: this is the project I am working on. (don't worry I am also working on the next children's book as well.)
I told myself a long time ago that I would finish my novel about High School Prom before my ten year reunion. The story has a fairytale flourish to it, and is filled with my own naïve outlook from back then, despite it being complete fiction. I have even gotten some literary agents feedback and am working on improving my writing skills throughout the story of the Kingdom of Jade. (The title of my book).
Although this book will not be released before my ten year high school reunion, will have the final version finished by then. This one is different from my other stories though, after getting feedback and learning things through my children's book , Polarbe's Hibernation, and my young adult book, Unmasked; I have decided to try again to get a Literary Agent.
I entered two of my books into a contest, and the feedback was enormously helpful. Something I am not getting anywhere else. My career as a writer has come to the point where I need a Literary Agent. That is not to say, I am not going to be releasing more children's stories through my website and kindle; because I am. I am just not going to release Kingdom of Jade, except through an agent and publisher, as well as my Grecian Chronicles.
So here is to my ten year high school reunion and to all of the amazing things to come!

Dear Mr. Iger,
It might be forward, it might be narcissistic and it might be unheard of to say such things. I have one dream in my life; and that is to be the next Walt Disney. No I am not after your job. I believe there are people within history whose names are synonymous with fairytales: Hans Christian Anderson, Wilhelm and Jakob Grimm, Walt Disney, and K. A. Petentler.
I have written to you several times. Though I have never heard back. But now I have something important to share with you. I am the next 'Disney'. I know that there have been numerous articles that say such a person will never exist again because many of our generation lack an imagination. I am here to tell you that this is not the case. If I have to publish all of my own children's books, young adult fairytales and all of my other stories through my own publishing company, I will do that. And the world will, eventually come to recognize that a girl from Kansas City Mo, with the imagination that expands daily, can bring about a new era in the magical kingdom. Even if it is her own that she had to conjure up herself.
I don't really want to be your competition. I have new stories, stories that will touch the soul and ignite the fire in children to imagine once again. It is, It has been, time to stop remaking stories that have been told and retold for almost three hundred years, or longer. It is time for new stories to rise up and change our generation, and those to come.
This year alone I will be releasing three children's books and three long short fairy-tales. Last year I released Polarbe's Hibernation, which I plan to make into an animated short. This Year I have released the first new fairytale, Unmasked. My next children's book is in the works with my Illustrator and high school friend, Andrea Badger, whom I have other projects in the work to come out this year. I also have a prom story called Kingdom of Jade, and a beauty and the beast tale that very likely will rival the live action that you are working on (probably because I have a new take that no one has ever done).
I might just be a nobody writer in Kansas City, Missouri with a large dream, but then again so was Walt Disney. I am just the girl version of him, reborn and better then ever, because I write fairy-tales that are true to our times. On subjects from woman's issues, to economy, global warming (Unmasked), and many more. I am telling you all of this, because imagination is not dead, reinvention and new stories exist, all you have to do is search beyond your walls and back to the place where it all began.
I am here. I am Walt Disney. I am Hans Christian Anderson. I am Wilhelm Grimm. I am Jakob Grimm. I am K. A. Petentler.
I am a fairytale writer of children's books and young adult novels. At the moment I have self published through my own publishing company. Remnants Publishing. Unmasked is my first long short fairytale. Polarbe's Hibernation is our children's book. And there is plenty more on the way.
