I always imagine sitting in his office, across from him. Me pitching my ideas and him telling me honestly what he thinks of them, good or bad. It is a weird thing, but it makes me inspire to be a better writer.
I imagine him somewhat like my uncle John who passed away almost ten years ago. He was always pretty harsh on my photography, but in a positive and encouraging way his criticisms made my photography better.
That is how I imagine Walt Disney would have been. Encouraging the raw talent I was born with but still making me aware that there is so much more that I can do to improve my work.
Is it a wonder that I dedicated my book, The Immortality Clause to both men?
For John and Walt
Whose stories will never be forgotten as long as there are people alive in the world who will remember them, the way they were always meant to be remembered.
